Data Platform Consultant (via Slalom) → Engineering Lead 2 managers · 4 teams · 15 staff · $10M+ vendor spend

Engaged at Trulieve through Slalom from May to December 2023 to architect a real-time data platform, then joined full time in December 2023 as Engineering Lead. Reports to the Executive Director of Cloud Infrastructure, IT Operations, and Cyber Security. Leads two managers and four teams (10 employees and 5 contractors): e-commerce infrastructure, digital workplace, cloud services, and networking, and manages more than $10M a year in technology vendor and platform spend.

  • Licensing & Vendor Strategy (~$0.7M annual cost avoidance): Redesigned the enterprise Microsoft 365 licensing model, avoiding roughly $0.7M in annual cost, and put an automated governance and audit process in place.
  • Enterprise AI Strategy & Governance: Authored the company's AI strategy and governance framework (AI risk, cost management, and security controls), and led enablement of Microsoft 365 Copilot and internal AI agents.
  • Snowflake Data Platform: Architected the company's Snowflake data platform from concept to production, with AWS and Databricks, starting as a Slalom consultant in 2023. Added Streamlit apps and Cortex AI under role-based access and data masking. A Snowflake real-time streaming pilot cut data latency from 30 minutes to seconds at a fraction of the prior cost.
  • Network Modernization: Standardized and automated management of 300+ sites across multiple states.
  • Multi-Cloud & E-Commerce Reliability: Designed a centralized AWS network hub with unified traffic inspection and consolidated logging, set up a Cloud Services operating model across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and hardened high-traffic e-commerce delivery.
  • Operating Model Redesign: Led a build-vs-buy review of managed IT services and designed the insourcing plan, RACI, and staffing model for the service desk and endpoint teams. The insourcing expanded the team's scope without a new contract and enabled automation.
